Need help locating a part for 69 horn contacts

I need to find the small brass terminal connector that connects the horn contact wires together so they can be installed on a friend's 69 Camaro. None of the repro outlets that I have contacted stocks that little part. Any information as to where I can obtain this part is greatly appreciated.

Re: Need help locating a part for 69 horn contacts

Are you talking about the wire that has the spring and clip. It is the one that connects to the round horn contact and goes through the steering wheel. If it is then I have the GM part number. It is 09769448 and and is called lead asm. If you need a picture of it let me know.

Re: Need help locating a part for 69 horn contacts

Question: how does this part connect to the cam assembly (cam and spring). This is the cam and spring that sits in the horn tower?

Re: Need help locating a part for 69 horn contacts

Check out this thread. There are pics that describe what you are asking about. In one pic a pin and spring are discussed. The pin, depending on the type of steering wheel used, may or might not be used. I have a 69 with a standard wheel and tried to use the pin but ended up not using it and just used the spring.

Re: Need help locating a part for 69 horn contacts

This is very helpful. The plastic horn tower on my car is broken and sits behind the steering lock plate??? This is the plate with cogs on the end. There's another plate on top of that with 3 phillips screws that can be easily removed.

To buy a new horn tower....is it part of the canceling cam? I thought I saw a similar piece at Classic Industries that's included in there wood steering wheel adapter kit.

Thanks!

Yes, I believe it is part of the cancelling cam.
