Fuel Gauge goes off when lights are turned on

1967 Camaro. Okay, here's a good one. The gas guage works great until the headlights are turned on, then it falls to empty. I'm converting to tach and guages, and the fuel guage has done it on both the pod fuel guage, and now on the console guage. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Bruce.

Run another ground from the back gauge up to the fuel gauge. I also had fuel gauge issues and doing this fixed mine.

Yes, I had this same problem when I was wiring up my 68 coupe.....It turns out the instrument panel wasn't getting a good ground!.....Run a ground wire from the metal part of the instrument panel to the body metal, under dashboard.

+1

JimM solved my problem for me a couple of months back. I ran a new ground wire from a 1/4 drive screw on the back of the gauge housing to the steering column. Problem solved.
