Low mount alternator

Most BB alternators seem to be mounted high on the passenger side which I reckon looks ugly. IS this done due to clearance issues ??
would a low mount version work on the drivers side

Re: Low mount alternator

All 69 and up chevy v8's mount the alternator to the pass side head.

Drivers side low mount would work, I think brackets are made for that for street rod applications. Note, if you have power steering that spot is filled.

If you don't have PS, then yes. They also have a mid mount. (see bottom of page)
