Activation of parking brake light

Hey Everyone,

I have found some good info on how the parking brake light is activated but there is some kind of clip over the cable on the 67's (maybe 68's) that pushes against the switch. It has an alignment hole on the brake assy so I know the switch is in the correct place and I see the clip on the assembly manual but it was not there on my car.

Any pics of what this looks like or hints on where I can find one?

Thanks,

Bill

Re: Activation of parking brake light

I did a search (hint hint) and came up with a good picture in this thread - https://www.camaros.net/forums/showth...y+brake+switch I seem to recall those threads saying that the parts are not reproduced. Perhaps the picture can help you engineer a replacement.

Thanks - just found an entire unit with the bracket intact on ebay too...

Just out of curiousity - what did you search under? I searched parking brake clip...

Re: Activation of parking brake light

Here is a picture of the clip you need.

I am in the same boat. My light stays on because my parking brake pedal does not have the clip on it. I have been unable to find one. No one seems to sell just the clip. I will have to get lucky in a junkyard I think.

Re: Activation of parking brake light

I cobbled something up out of sheet metal for my old 69 ragtop. After that I put a keen eye on EVERY parking brake setup that I came across, LOL! My current cars all have the correct clips, Ha! It's one of the many unique little parts that when you don't have it sucks finding one.
