Dome light stays on!

First I want to say thank you for the replies about (67 rs wiring nightmare) found a bad ground. Headlights work fine now. The only problem left is when I leave the door open for a couple of minutes the dome light stays on when I close the door. Disconnect the battery and hook it back up the light stays on. Disconnect the battery for a couple of minutes and the light stays off. When this first happened I was at a friends house so I drove the car home with the dome light on and when I was pulling in the garage I heard a click and the light went off. Are there contacts in the light switch that could be getting hot and sticking together? I have replaced both door switches.

you might need to readjust the switches.
