1967 alternator wiring

the wires that plug into the back of the alternator burned into .Theres a blue and yellow wire plus of course the big red battery wire. looking straight at the back of the alternator with the connector plug at the top which side does the yellow wire go to . left side or right side ? thankful for any help.

The yellow used to be white long ago. It goes on the left, blue one on the right.

how about the big red cable in back does that go straight to the battey? or starter?

By the wiring diagram the red wire goes to the VR. It changes to orange at a fusible link before going into the VR connector. The red wire coming from the battery goes to the Horn Relay.
