68 rewire

I have a 68 standard camaro automatic that I am putting console guages in, I have the under dash and console wiring, will I have to change the engine wiring also or will the guages work that way? It will not have a tac. Thanks Jim

Re: 68 rewire

I'm putting factory gauges in as we speak. If you want to do this you need the console conversion harness. One other thing the factory gauges has a fuel indicator which makes the dash pod one redundant. Probably a good idea to get the tic toc tach, since the conversion harness is wired for it.

I'm not sure about Autometer or other aftermarket gauges, but I know there are a ton of threads on this.

Re: 68 rewire

If you are installing gauges into a car with no gauges previously you will need to install sending units for the oil pressure and water temp gauges on the engine.
