Wiper/Dimmer Switch ?s

I bought the new Classic Update Harness for my 68 and found two questions with it.

My original Wiper Switch has an orange wire soldered to the back housing. This doesn't go anywhere. Is it a ground?

nm on the dimmer switch-overlooked the harness

Thanks!

Re: Wiper/Dimmer Switch ?s

I have never seen orange used as a ground. I have seen it used numerous times as a hot feed. You certainly wouldn't want to connect a hot feed to ground.

My approach would involve disconnecting the battery and the use of a schematic with a continuity probe to determine what goes where. Do a continuity check betweenthe orange wire and each of the fuse connection sockets for example. Make sure there is not continuity between hot feeds and ground. It'll all make sense once you match your readings up with the schematic.
