Help--my camaro won't start

I recently put petronix ignition in my 396 camaro. It was running great. Now when I turn the starter the engine seems to fire up but as soon as the key rests in the "on" position (after cranking the starter) it goes dead--no fire. Do I have a bad ignition switch? Problems with my distributor or coil? Do I need to install a tremec 5 speed? (just kidding but I'm looking for any excuse to upgrade to a 5 speed.) Thanks for your advice.

Re: Help--my camaro won't start

You might be losing ign voltage due to the ign switch.

Hook up a test light or place the DMM in view and watch for the voltage. If not there at IGN, then new switch is the next item or tear apart the electrical section and burnish the copper contacts with emery paper.
