Question 67 Dash Fuel Gauge

I have a quick question. The weather was warm last weekend so I decided to go for a drive. Stopped and filled her up at the gas station...$60.00 bucks ouch. The dash gas gauge pegged way past full. But the gauge reads full even with ignition is turned off. Never noticed that before. Isn't the gauge suppose to return to empty?
Thanks Ken

Re: 67 Dash Fuel Gauge

No, our gas gauges do not go anywhere when shut off.
How far past full? If it's sticking out 90 degrees to the tirght, you may have had the senbder wire come off. I'd just watch it as you use the fuel. Be sure to watch your miles too!
