Question distributor/tach wiring??

I am trying to finish wiring my tach to my distributor on my 69. This is the first time I have ever even taken the distributor cap off...

So, I cannot figure out how to spade terminal (u-shape) to the distributor on the (-) side. Below you will find a few pictures. It doesn't seem like it should be difficult, but the last thing i want to do is fry anything.

Any help would be great.

Thanks,
Aaron

Re: distributor/tach wiring??

Ummm -

you just put a wire with a female plug connector over that existing spade from underneath...in other words, just plug a wire in under the side that says "tach" on the cap.

Re: distributor/tach wiring??

Just to be painfully clear...

If you are using an OE style tach harness, it was made to get signal from the negative side of the OE coil, which is why it has the U shaped terminal on it.

To use it on the HEI, you will have to change the terminal.
