67 RS Headlights

I've got a new wiring harness for my 67 RS. The current wiring is old and does not work. My question is can I (using the new harness) wire the headlights to work without worrying with the relays, headlight motors (which are missing) for the "short term."?

Is it possible to just "skip" the relays, etc and get the head lights going?

Re: 67 RS Headlights

Looking at the 67 RS headlamp door wiring schemo, it appears to me that if you disconnect the "under dash connector" which has a light blue and a brown wire coming from it, the relays will not be energized and the doors cannot move. From there, it won't matter if the relays are connected or not. You can open the doors by hand. The headlight switch and dimmer switch should function normally. Good luck, it won't hurt try it.

If you have this schematic, I recommend coloring the lines with appropriate colored pencils. It makes it much easier to follow when you are working on the car. If you don't have it, search the forums.

Yes, you can just connect the applicable wires to your headlights without worrying about the headlight relays and headlight motors. I know, because this is how my car is set up right now.
