I think it is for the reverse lights on a manual stick car.

I have seen this before, to be honest I think It was a switch for a turbo 400 trans. I cant be for sure though. Where exactly is it located? It is on the firewall isn't it?

I wondered what that connector was for 12 years until I did my LS1 swap and and started tracking down how to hook up the backup lights to my T56 . And then for the 1st time in 12 years, I had backup lights!

Re: 67 owners - anyone recognize this connector??

OK, cool. That makes sense, because it is an original 4 speed car. I haven't had a factory 4-speed 67 or 68.

The part that is on the firewall is the extension harness and available from AAW/Factory Fit. It connects to the dash harness and includes the rubber boot that goes thru the firewall. The wire is only a foot or two long.

Factory Fit part # CA70554 $21.00

They even have a picture of it on the site

Re: 67 owners - anyone recognize this connector??

I just bought the AAW Classic Update Kit, do you think it would be in there? I went to the website but it wasn't very clear.

Re: 67 owners - anyone recognize this connector??

It is in their restoration catalog. I'm not sure if it is part of the update kit.

Here is a link to the picture from the AAW site

You can find it by looking at the restoration harnesses on their site - They call it the back-up light harness.

Best bet is to give them a quick call - I have always had great luck w/their customer service

Holy S**t!! I think I have one of those! Looks like the one I had found laying in the trunk of my car when I bought it, I almost threw it out because it didn't look familiar. I was working on an El Camino SS at the time too and I thought maybe it had come from there. Glad I kept it... now... what did I do with it?!?! lol
