67 Heater Resistor

I just restored and installed the heater box in my 67.. I put a new resistor in the top of it, but was wondering if anybody could shed light on exactly how it is used?? Resistor's reduce current flowing, and this one just seemed to be installed in the middle of the box.. Is it used to change the speed on the blower motor or something different? Thanks

Re: 67 Heater Resistor

Yes, the resistor gives you three speeds for the blower motor.
