Re: Signal indicators always on

With almost 100% certainty, I will say - bad ground.....................

I'm assuming you mean the bulb in the trunk ? Not the indicator bulb ?

Or maybe the front. I'd look at and clean as many as i can find. This might be more of an issue with a newer resto than and older one if the paint was not removed when attaching grounds on reassembly.

Re: Signal indicators always on

correct, in the trunk.

bulb socket needs to ground securely to tail light housing, which then grounds to tail pan by mounting studs and nuts.

If both bulbs (RS tail lights?) are bad, it probably needs a star washer or two under the housing mounting nuts.

Re: Signal indicators always on

I guess the only thing that confuses me is that both signals worked fine until I grounded the dash cluster to fix the indicator lights....that's when the right signal stopped...I will go make sure all sockets are grounded....and I appreciate all the help so far

Re: Signal indicators always on

Bad grounds make all kinds of electrical issues. I would clean all the grounds on your front and back lights and blinkers.

Re: Signal indicators always on

Problem solved ! The grounds checked out so I went back to the instrument cluster....the steering wheel wire harness connector came loose when I grounded the instrument cluster to fix the indicators...solved the horn problem too...thanks everybody...and now how do I stop obsessing over something that I probably won't drive till spring anyway ?
