Wipers are Same Speed no matter in High/Fast or Low/Slow ...

Hi Guys,

I have a brand new Wiper Motor, brand new Wiper Switch, and brand new wiring by American Auto Wire ...

Everything appears to be connected properly ... (however I didn't install a washer system so the 2 wires for this are not connected ... don't think this has anything to do with it) ...

Whenever I switch on the wipers to low ... they work fine, then I switch to high and they continue to work fine but do not increase in speed ...

What would be causing this? Do I need some sort of ground jumper to the wiper motor where it bolts to the firewall or what?

Thanks for any insight ...

I'm thinking the wiper motor is bad, if so ... Advance said that I could bring it in and swap it out ...

This is for your 68? There should be three wires attached to your motor, are they all there?

Kevin.....According to your wiper diagram, are you saying that theirs supposed to be a ground wire from the wiper motor to the wiper switch?.....Perhaps this is the reason my wipers aren't working as I don't have this ground wire leading from the motor to the switch!.....I do have a ground wire from the wiper motor to the firewall!

Ron, the way the motor is grounded when installed is through a brass ring in the uppermost gromment. Then the bolt and metal washer touch the brass ring and grounds to the switch through the chassis. If the motor or switch housing is not grounded, then no workee'

Tim, only other thing I can think of is making sure the switch ohms out on low and high. else there is something wrong internally with the motor

OK, thanks Kevin!....I must have either a bad wiper switch or lack of a ground!
