Rear license plate light

On a 68, are there two sockets/bulbs that go out to the license plate or just one. I have two round openings on each side above the plate but nothing in them. When I look in my catalogs, they sell them as a single socket instead of a pair and state that only one is required. Also, what type of bulb goes in the socket? Thanks, Matt.

Re: Rear license plate light

One hole is for the single license plate light, #67, the other hole is for the tank sending unit.

Re: Rear license plate light

Thank you guys. When I bought the car it had after marked gauges installed, one of them being a console gas guage. The gauge works which means it must be wired (more likely rigged) a bid different. I'll have a peak...
