Wiring for 69 headlight washer pump

I am looking for info and/or pics for headlight washer pump wiring. Do you just make a jumper from the other pump wires ? If so how does it connect into the original harness and still look correct ?

Cliff, Im moving this to your same question in Elec. section. You only need to post in one area, as that is our site policy too.

Is it an RS camaro? Those have 2 solenoids, one on top of the wiper motor and one underneath....
this is the RS setup:

Re: Wiring for 69 headlight washer pump

Ours is not an RS but it looks the same except our solenoid does not have the hose coming out of the end. Just the two hoses at the pump. Do you know where I could get the ends to connect the wires to the pump terminals and also hook up the jumpers ? The pic looks like a end with 1 female term. and 2 males made together.

Re: Wiring for 69 headlight washer pump

By 'ends' do you mean the brown plastic parts that the wires end up inside? Those are available at body shops or any parts store... still not clear what you have there either. If you have a solenoid on top of your wiper motor, that is an RS setup. Check the number on the end of the wiper motor, that will tell us if its RS or standard.

Re: Wiring for 69 headlight washer pump

There were 116 Non-RS cars that got the RPO-CE1 Headlight washers. Sounds like Cliff's got one.

Talk about rare! I had forgotten that was offered separately, very good catch.

Re: Wiring for 69 headlight washer pump

Yep. The headlight washers were available separately. I thought they were silly. I guess most folks did too, except for 116.

Re: Wiring for 69 headlight washer pump

Hi All

Ok by reading this post I have worked out that the small pump on top of my washer/wiper motor is used for the head lights.

My question now is does anybody have a drawing or pictures on how to connect the water lines/tubing I had one of my buddies help restore the engine bay and when he removed it we some how lost the tubing and now don't know how it all should fit back in and or what goes to the main water tank, all I have is the water spray nozel for main windscreen I don't even know where the head light spray head go.

Your help would be appreciated

George, if you have a 69 AIM, the headlight washer hose arrangement is shown in UPC CE1, sheet A2 (standard headlight cars) and UPC Z22, sheet B11 (RS option).

The grill has 4 holes for the nozzles in it. One to the right of each light, one to the left. They holes are kind of oval shaped if I recall correctly.
