Gauge Console Grounding

Here is my mock up,with jumper from panel to panel

Here is my finished product with lights having thier own grounds but without jumper from panel to panel

Sorry for the question guys ,No longer need the panel grounded for lights as they each have thier own ground but for Gauge purposes Do I need the panel grounded ? I'm thinking of jumpering it I just want this right when I stick it in the hole
Do I need a jumper to or will it pickup one thru the ampmeter terminal? Do ampmeter and temp. gauge need a case ground ?

Re: Gauge Console Grounding

You need a ground jumper between panels. The temp gauge (or fuel gauge) wont work if there isn't one. The ammeter is not grounded, you will let the electronic smoke out of it if you ground it and you'll be buying a new one. Its not an ammeter its a millivolt meter measuring the voltage drop between the battery and the horn relay on the charge wire.

Re: Gauge Console Grounding
