Reverse Light hole in firewall

I have a 68 that was originally an automatic, but now has a muncie 4 speed.
I have the engine out and would like to drill the hole in the firewall for the reverse light plug/connector. I don't know the exact location to drill the hole, and was hoping someone could send me a picture of the connectors location.
Thanks

Re: Reverse Light hole in firewall

I just check my 68 AIM, and it shows the hole in the same place. If you have an AIM, the hole is shown on UPC 0 sheet A 8.5 (up front, 10 pages in or so). That is location 3C for RPO M20, and the AIM says to drill a .920/.940 diameter hole at existing dimple. So, if you can find the dimple, you just need a 15/16" drill bit (or more likely hole saw).

It's the one above and to the right of the throttle rod hole.

Holesaw works, but I like to use a step drill bit for holes in thin metal

Re: Reverse Light hole in firewall

I did use a step drill bit and it worked good. I was able to go up one step at a time and check the fit after each step, until I got it perfect.
There was/is a dimple in the firewall where the hole should be.
Thanks again for the help.
