mini starter elect connection

hi guys i have a 69z with a bb and accel HEI dist. i am changing out my old stock starter for a mini there are only 2 termanals one 4 the battery and ignition. I called summit up they said i dont need the other wire it use to feed points on the old system . Does this sound right i grew up in the old points day hei is new to me thanks on this one not sure

Yes, that is correct. Hook up the battery cable & the crank circuit wire and you are good to go. If you still had points, they sell an adapter that goes on the crank terminal as well that provides a hookup to the coil, but is has a diode in it so the starter won't keep spinning after you let off the key from power backfeeding from the coil positive to the crank circuit on the starter...

Sometimes it's better to let someone think your an idiot, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt...

You will not need the wire. Summit is correct. All you need is the wire that was on the "S" terminal. I think it was the big purple wire. You can tape the other wire off.
