heater fan wire

Does the wire that goes to the heater fan motor come off the main harness for the engine? On my 76 non A/C car I have 3 thick red wires. One goes to the alternator and one goes to the starter but the 3rd has a black plastic connector on the end. It is the right legnth for the blower motor and in the right vicenity. I have been afraid to hook this wire to it becouse if it does not go there I may be asking for trouble. I would appreciate any info someone has on this. Thanks

Re: heater fan wire

Your third red wire is more than likely the feed for the HEI distributor. GM usually used an orange wire for the heater fan.

Re: heater fan wire

I have a HEI distributor and it has a brown wire. The engine runs great so I am pretty sure it is wired right. This all looks to be factory wiring.
