Aiming Headlights on a 68 Camaro

I have completed the restoration of the headlight assembly on my 68. Rather than taking the car to a front-end alignment shop (which I will do if necessary) I was hoping there is a home remedy that I can align my headlights.

Any suggestions or comments will be most welcome.

Thanks,
Mitch

6feet from your garage door on a flat surface aim them so they are 3.5 feet off the ground at the door in front of you!! Try it at night!!thats for a stock height car..your left and right should be about 4.5 feet apart also!! give or take a little!!

I pull the car very close to the garage door, and tape an X in the center of each headlight beam.
Then back straight back as far as practical, and aim the headlights a little below and a little right of the x's.
