Msd 6al-2

does the white wire work the same on this unit as in the old 6-AL ? I have a keyed hood latch with kill wire in it so I want to connect it to the WHITE MSD wire ?

Re: Msd 6al-2

According to MSD's instruction manuals, the white wire connects to the breaker points, electronic ignition amplifier output ot the yellow wire of an MSD timing accessory for both the 6AL and the 6AL-2 units. The 6AL's manual outlines the use of this wire as a theft deterrent option; however, the 6AL-2's makes no mention of it. Seeing as how both wires serve the same purpose for the ignition box, I would assume it would be safe to use the white wire on your -2 box for your kill switch. HOWEVER, it's probably best to contact MSD to be 100% sure.
