My HEI distributer was working fine, now suddenly no spark!! Where do I start to troubleshoot? It has 12 volts at the battery connection, where do I go from here?

Re: No Spark HEI

Check for power at BAT terminal.
Remove dist cap and bump starter to see if rotor turns.
Push up on connections on the side of the body.
Test resistance of pick-up coil = approx 1500 ohms.
Test coil continuity.
Test coil spring loaded button and see if it is touching the rotor.
Look for carbon tracks from the rotor buttom to the steel holddown screws - screws should be nylon material.
Replace module.

Others may have more steps/clues.
