67 rs taillight wiring

Does anyone have any pics of a factory rs taillight wiring hook up in the trunk, and any wiring diagrams.I have the upc 12 out of my book. My wiring has been cut up a little and crimp connectors put in place,I know thats really bad!.It also looks like some of the sockets has been changed< maybe 69> because the harness wire color and the socket wire dont match up! JUST NEED SOME HELP!!! THANKS JARED

Re: 67 rs taillight wiring

wish I could help you but I ended up replacing my wiring with a AAW updated kit because of that very reason.

Re: 67 rs taillight wiring

I can post the 68 diagram out of the assembly manual if you want. The manual doesn't show RS specific diagram but I would assume it would be the same color coding for RS vs standard. There is a RS page that shows the wires coming into the trunk for the backup lights. I would assume those would simply connect (via an extra clip - I think) to the wires for the standard backup lights. Let me know if you want it...

Re: 67 rs taillight wiring

The best thing you can do is spend the seven dollars on the electrical schematics from Rick's. I don't know if they offer a socket with factory plug on it or not. I bought replacement sockets for my '69 and they just had universal color pigtails. That's probably what someone put in yours. The person who did it should have cut the factory socket wires at the socket so the plug could be retained instead of cutting the plug out. Maybe the same guy did both of our cars. I found my reverse sockets underneath the back seat which they must have yanked out when they replaced the auto with a manual and didn't install a reverse switch.
