Small pet pieve with new marker lights...

I decided during the reassembly, that I wanted to replace some (most) of the parts that go back on, such as marker lights, etc. I ordered a "marker light kit" from one of the sponsors on TC that I have bought quit a bit of stuff from before. I just came back from a trip to the h/w store to buy some stainless bolts for mounting my rear bumper, because I just couldn't bring myself to use the old bolts to remount it. I bought a stainless kit for the front end for this same reason.
So imagine my surprise when I go to install the marker lights and I discover that they come with the lense, the bezel, the gasket, the housing...everything you need, EXCEPT the freakin' NUTS for mounting the lights.

I know it's small, but it kinda gives me a case of the red-a$$, ya know?

I looked at several catalogs and the manufacture (OER) doesn't include nuts in the kits... It would be a much better approach to PM the sponsor when a question comes up instead of leaving everyone thinking it was a sponsor problem.

That is normal because the hardware is packaged seperately in a kit for the entire car. It is just where they drew the line.

Re: Small pet pieve with new marker lights...

My only nice suggestion would be in the catalog near the original item should state part #12345 "the nuts" are reccomended. That may eliminate most of the confision. I think I have seen this in the Classic catalog? Brian

DjD,
I'm not sure I understand your point. I didn't 'call out" a sponsor, and I didn't have a question. My only point in mentioning they came from a sponsor was to make the point that it wasn't a cheapo e-bay-basement buy.

It makes the point for others that may be ordering kits to make sure that in addition to the "kit"...they order the nuts too, as they may not be part of the kit.

On the subject of kits, these parts came in a plastic shopping bag like you'd get at a grocery store, tossed in as individual parts/pieces, so actually, they COULD have tossed in the bag of nuts as well, and chose not to.

Jim my point is folks are going to take your post as you were not happy with the sponsor based on what you wrote. The quote above supports that as well because you put the whole thing back on the sponsor again with "they COULD have tossed in the bag of nuts as well"...

Please don't take this as anything more than informational, if it were I would have just removed the post...

Re: Small pet pieve with new marker lights...

I gotta agree with Jim... The nuts should have been included in the "marker light kit."
They could have at least pointed out "mounting hardware not included" or recommended part number xyz mounting hardware as an accessory.

Also worth noting that Jim did not call out the sponsor, the post has not been edited.
Sponsors, suppliers, read and heed. Most of the catalogs I order from do in fact note what hardware should be bought if it's not included. If your's does not, it should.

I agree that the nuts should have been included. I'm not thinking he is blaming the sponsor here, as I don't think THEY bagged the items. For all I know they are simply reselling something someone else packaged.
