Shaved door Handles

Has anyone installed a Electri-Life shaved door handle kit on a Fisrt Gen Camaro? I am having hell with the door solenoids, they are heavy duty but I think the throw on stock door latch has to travel a long way and the solenoid just wont open in enough to unlock the door.
Any advise and or pictures would be appreicated.

Re: Shaved door Handles

I added an extension1/8"x1/2" with a hole in it for the cable to loop thru to the stock mechanism to make it easier to pull.I used a 1/8"x3" plate accross the big opening to hold the solinoid.

No it goes straight to the extension I welded to the latch. The set up has never failed I used the aluminum plunger type popper springs in the door jamb up front.
