Re: lights pulsing when idle

Probably because of a few things, reads normal....these older cars have a mechanical voltage regulator and during idle could be just low enough for VR to be at this point. Rev up the engine a little and all is fine.
Low alternator output - if you have a 37 AMP alt, read stamping next to adjustment bolt, not much you can do except swap in a 55 or a 61 amp alt. If you already have a bigger alt, you might replace the VR with a Wells P/N VR715, an electronic regulator.

You also might disconnect the battery cables and clean them and the battery posts and remove the two red wires on the horn relay and wire brush all components and reassemble.

If you installed aftermarket stereo amp(s) or another heavy current drawing device, you might want to upgrade to a 12SI alternator, a 3-wire alt, for better electrical system.

But first thing I would do is to check belt tightness, if not replace it and recheck tightness after 10-15 miles.
