Alternators

Did the 67 rsss camaro alternator come with 61 amp external regulator? Or a 55amp alternator. If so how can you identify if it externally or internally regulated?

On An externally regulated alternator the two wire plug has terminals that look like
this l l on the internally regulated one the terminals look like this -- --
As far as I know all 67 Camaros came with a 37 amp alternator.

the output of the alternator depended on the option(s) ordered
If RPO-C60 equiped it was 61A for 1967.
If RPO-K76 (61A) or K79 (42A) was specified it also over-road the standard 1967 37A alternator.
Each alternator pulley application was also specific to the engine, options and emission (or lack of) system type.

Thanks for great info 12run. My terminals look like this ||. I read that chevy did have internal regulators until 73. Don't know??
