Wiper Motor connection

I hav a 1967 Camaro with a four terminal connecter on it. Apparently whoever put in the first motor did not put the wires back into the connector properly. The motor continues to blow fuses. Can somebody help me out withthe proper way to connect the wires?

Thank you

Re: Wiper Motor connection

UPDATE:: When looking at the firewall and going left to right the
#1 connector is Black (GND)
#2 = ???
#3 &#4 are electrically the same point = ???

I have YELLOW = 12v straight from fuse block
Light Blue = ??? to motor from switch
Dark Blue = ??? to motor from switch

Any ideas on which wire connects to which connection on the motor?

Re: Wiper Motor connection

Thank you for the picture, but my motor is just a bit different (see below) The two terminals on the right are connected together. I have a BLACK, YELLOW, LIGHT BLUE & DARK BLUE wire.

Thanks again

Re: Wiper Motor connection

Not sure, could that be a 68 motor? Electronically it may be the same.

Re: Wiper Motor connection

According to RICK's 1st Generation Camaro the four terminal is a 1967 and the three terminal is a 1968 - 1969.

Re: Wiper Motor connection

Rick's has a few things inaccurate in their catalogs. I can think of a few examples. Do you have the AIM(67 assembly manual)? I can check it later at home to see if it mentions anything about different wiper motors.

Re: Wiper Motor connection

67 has a round opening and 68/69 is an oval and will not fit on a 67. This is a 68 opening for a the wiper motor. Also found a 67 engine bay that may help you.

Re: Wiper Motor connection

I have the round opening. I do not have the washer pump with mine. I only have the wiper motor. Is the washer pump required for proper operation?

Re: Wiper Motor connection

Only for squirting. The wipers should work without it. I would just disregard that last connector on the right since it is continuous with the one next to it. Cover it with heat shrink tubing.

Re: Wiper Motor connection

Light blue is center. Yellow is right. Dark blue connects to the pump as in my photo.
