rewire of 68 original console ameter

I have an original center console for the 68 SS I am doing. The console is in rough shape but I think I can fix that. My problem is the gauges that are installed. The ameter is missing the electrical part that is a round piece mounted to the underside of the gauges. It has 3 wires that are supposed to go to it. I need to know what that part is and if it is available. Otherwise is there an upgrade that matches the gauge style that will be a volt meter. My wiring harness from Amarican Autowire does not support the current ameter. Any help on this would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jeff

Re: rewire of 68 original console ameter

Further inspection of the console gauges shows I made a mistake. The 3 little wires are for the fuel gauge not the ameter. I still need to find out the part I am missing for it. Where do the 3 little wires go? They are very light gauge wires.
Thanks,
Jeff

Re: rewire of 68 original console ameter

I am still confused West 68. There are 3 wires that come from the back of the fuel gauge. Red, Yellow and black. I know the blacjk is a ground but the red and yellow go to another round electrical think according to the wiring diagram. This is the item I do not have and do not know what it is. There is a hole in the back of the gauge plate for it. The other 2 holes in the plate are for the lights. I need to know what the round thing is supposed to be and where I might be able to get one.
Thanks,
Jeff

fuel gauge

The yellow, wire goes to the low fuel light module. One of the black wires shown also goes to the low fuel module.
