Retro-Electro motors with factory relay setup

Hi all,

I just ordered my new headlight door motors from Retro-Electro.... very very nice lady on the phone.... and I had a question. I really want to keep as much of the factory equipment working as possible (I have really good factory motors even that I want to save) so I plan to use the original relay system with limit switches. If this doesn't work out, I'll go ahead and get the other part of the conversion they sell there. Does anyone have experience and or feedback about using the motors with the factory relay and wiring system?

Thanks in advance,
-Adam

Re: Retro-Electro motors with factory relay setup

You should have absoulutely no need to use any of the conversion components. The Retro-Electric motors work absolutely perfectly with the factory system, assuming the factory system components (relays, limiting switches, diode under dash) are in good working order, and you set the electic motor clutches up properly. I installed the Retro motors this past summer and the system now works like a swiss watch.

I installed those on my car and love them. I went ahead and did the entire kit. If you get stuck, call Mark from Retro-Electro and he'll help you out. He also posts here under the id of Marktat. Here is the thread on my conversion.
