1969 Camaro Fuel Tank wiring?????

Help, I am in the garage right now putting together my freshly painted car. My trunk floor was replace. I can't find where the fuel tank wiring should come in at. It looks like it plugs in to the same plug as the rear license plate light. Where should the hole be? and where does the ground mount. The body shop dropped my tank and I have no clue
Thanks Mark

Re: 1969 Camaro Fuel Tank wiring?????

If you flip the license plate door down, look into the cavity where the fuel filler neck is.... up and to the right. There's a small grommet that passes through that hump into the trunk area, right behind the support for the trunk latch. The wire will pass through from the tank and connect to the tail light harness INSIDE the trunk.
The ground should be attached to the passenger side brace above the tank that is welded to the trunk floor. You don't have to move the tank to attach it if you have the ground wire hanging out... just attach it to the rear most hump of that brace at the back of the tank. A sheetmetal screw and serrated washer is what I used. Make sure there's no paint AT ALL on the brace when you attach the ground wire.

Here is what Joe is talking about. I found this pic of it. Shown to the left of the latch bracket in this photo...

Jim, that pic shows the hole/wiring for the license plate light. The fuel sending unit wire is actually behind the brace on the left hand side (unless that's what you meant).

I have closeup pics in this thread:

yeah its not a good pic of the tank wire at all, but Eric's pics in that other thread show it very nicely.
