Monsoon Stereo Question

I recently puchased a 1999 Z28 convertible and want to replace the blown door speakers and also put in a new battery. I read the following in a Haynes manual;

"Caution: On models equipeed with a Delco Loc II or Theftlock audio system, be sure the lockout feature is turned off before performing any procedure which requires disconnecting the battery."

Is this the same for the Monsoon stereo system since it has the "Theftlock" logo on it? And if so, does anyone know how to turn off the "lockout" feature?

Re: Monsoon Stereo Question

We run into this all the time in the body shop.
We connect a jumper battery to the cables in order to keep the system powered up, while changing the battery carefully, & keeping all the codes safe in the radio and computer.
We also have a 12 volt source that does the same by plugging it into the cigar lighter.
If all that fails, you have to call a Chevrolet dealer and the service or parts departments can get you the code.
