Radio

Another question for you all....
The original owner of my car decided to cut the dash to put in a cheesy CD player. I am trying to revert my car back to a more original look and would like to install a more original appearing radio. Is it possible to mount a shaft style radio in a dash that has been cut?
I have tried searching the old posts, but all of the ones I could find were about installing aftermarket radios.
By the way, thanks for all your help with my previous questions. I've finally got all the electrical problems sorted out!

Re: radio

you could fabricate a mounting plate, and use support brackets in the rear or sides?
