Rear console light

hello I'm wiring my console and the rear light is not hooked up does anyone know if stays on when the lights are on?Or does it only come on when the door is opened like the dome light.

I think you are talking about 67 console, yes? The light should come on with the doors and when the headlight knob is turned all the way to the detent.
