What is it?

This rubber capped wire is screwed to the tail pan of my car near where the right side fuel strap mounts. It's cut - and obviously not doing anything. My license plate light works so it's not for that.

Any guesses??? I'm stumped.

Here's what it looks like front the back of the tail pan. The bolt is for the fuel tank strap.

Front under the car facing the inner tail pan

Close up from directly under the tail pan

Any guesses?

Re: What is it?

You think? It's a wire, not a hose. Looks like a wire with a rubber boot on it.

Re: What is it?

Can you trace down where the other end of that wire goes. Could be that they wired in a reverse wire by pass.

Re: What is it?

It just doesn't look like any type of electrical connector I've ever seen. The end on the outside of the panel. And seems kind of large for a wire.
Might just be the pictures.

Re: What is it?

I'm saying air shocks also. That nut that's painted red used to be a fill valve, the end of it is cut or broken off. I think if you take that nut off the "wire"will go away along with it.

Re: What is it?

Air Shocks have hard plastic lines that could be misstaken for a wire. I bet there is no conductor in the wire.

Re: What is it?

Yup, you guys are good. What I thought was a wire is actually a small diameter hose...
