69 Courtesy lamp harness

Do all 69's have the plug to add the underdash courtesy lamp option?? If yes, where exactly is this plug.?? Several searches reveal it may be by the fuse box ??? I can't find it. Thanks.

Re: 69 Courtesy lamp harness

I have read that if it is there, it may be behind the kick panel where the rear harness is routed.?.?

Re: 69 Courtesy lamp harness

If a 69 is anything like a 67 it should look like this. This is the wiring harness that goes back to the rear lights and dome light. This is located behind the left kick panel. Notice the hinge plate to the left and the vent opening to the right. The wiring that is going down is the harness we are talking about. That connector at the top with the orange and white wires coming out of it is the courtesy light connection.

Re: 69 Courtesy lamp harness

Awesome pic Roger Thanks. Unfortunately, I do not see any orange and white wires going down behind the kick panel. I do see a White single wire which is for the door jamb switch.

Re: 69 Courtesy lamp harness

The orange and white wires are going to the under dash courtesy lights. They are plugged in to the female connector you are looking for. The single white wires are going the the door switches. If you don't have the under dash lights you wouldn't have the orange and white wires.

Re: 69 Courtesy lamp harness

Thanks Roger, I just have to figure out how to gently remove the kick panel without damaging it.

Re: 69 Courtesy lamp harness

Thanks Mark, the harness I need costs around 32.00. It is for the underdash lights only. It plugs in somewhere by the drivers kick panel.

Re: 69 Courtesy lamp harness

There is no easy way to get that kick panel off. The E-brake pedal needs to be remover to get it out. That connector should be at the top of the kick panel and you may be able to access it without removing the panel.
Again remember the 69s may be completely different then my 67. Is you courtesy light harness a multi year (67-69) harness?
