67 dash warning lights

Should their be any lights with a gauge car that should come on when you turn on the key?
I have a 67 that has gauges, I just got the car last fall, I thought that when I turned on the key that the oil & brake warning lights came on with the key. And now they don"t.
If they are suppose to come on what do I check? (The bulbs are good)

Re: 67 dash warning lights

Check fuse panel for blown INST fuse. The oil pressure gauge has hook up to the block just above the oil filter.
The OIL light has a switch under the distributor, dark blue wire? Disconnect the dark blue wire from the switch and ground it, the OIL light should come on. If not, and bulb is good, could be the oil light switch is bad.
Press emergency/parking brake to see if BRAKE light comes on.

When key is on, engine off, OIL & GEN lights should be lit.
