Is there anything that cannot be replaced on 67 AM Radio?

I am looking to buy an original 67 AM Delco radio. Once I get one, I plan to have it sent out to be restored and upgraded with today's technology, just want it looking stock.

Is there anything that cannot be restore or replaced on an original radio? Want to know what pieces cannot be replaced and stay away from those radios. Thanks in advance,

Joe

Joe,

You should check out this guys radios that have AM/FM/Ipod input:

http://mysite.verizon.net/vze6kave/index.html

They are stock radios with the guts replaced and work great.

He also sells on EBay. I have one in my 68 and one in my 69.
His email address is: jc68gto4 at verizon.net (replace at with @).

Send him an email and tell him what you are looking for and ask for a price. I think there is a cheaper price without a core, but it is not a huge difference.

Actually, I did email him about restoring one. Found him doing a search on this board earlier.

I didnt realize he sells radios, just thought he restored them. I will email him back and ask if he has one for sale. Thanks,

Joe

I sent him one of my 69 AMs and he converted it (works great!) and sent me all the junk internals back

Re: Is there anything that cannot be replaced on 67 AM Radio?

I use Larry at http://woodradios.com/. He buys cores from me. More $ than the above link but the components are not the same either. He has a component specialist and does not use the same internals as the other refurbish companies. Has good speaker and installation recommendations also. Tells you which speakers give the best sound for the least coin. He's picky.
