Water temp sender help needed

Hi, I'm trying to find out what the best way would be to tie an electric water temp sender into the stock dark green wire that is for the idiot light (elec sender will replace the factory sender). My wiring harness is all stock and uncut, and I want to avoid running another wire outside the harness. is there a way to T into that wire on the dash side? thank you, chris

Re: water temp sender help needed

You get want to use the OE wire, you'll have to adapt the teminal connection at the sender.
You'll have disconnect the wire at the other end from the OE gauge and connect the wire tot he substitute gauge per aftermarket instructions.
You cannot T it.

Yes, and put in the proper sender for your gauge.

Yes, and as Larry suggested, use the same brand sending unit for the brand of gauge.
The idiot light uses a switch, gauge won't work with the switch.
