1969 z/28 alternator dos not charge

car as stock alternator and regulator.

Car was not charging, so i purchased a new alternator ... after installing new alternator...still no charge.

Heres what i see; large red wire behind alternator as 12 Volts, little dark blue wire behind alternator as 12 volts, white wire as 0 volts.

I made sure that both white and dark blue wires have continuity between alternator and voltage regulator.

Voltage regulator harness as 12volts on all wires except for brown.

could it be the voltage regulator is no good.

How to check voltage regulator if it functions.

thanks

Tell us you didn't turn in the original alternator for a core, did you?

Experience...... It's what you get when you didn't get what you wanted.

Re: 1969 z/28 alternator dos not charge

Probably the battery has a bad cell and doesnt HOLD the charge. Yes if you removed the unique dated originals from your Z and did not save them, expect LARGE $$ to replace them or a big hit in resale price.
