Camaro tach in a Firebird?

I have a 67 Bird without factory gauges. I want to get a aftermarket fuel guage and replace the factory gauge with a Camaro factory tach. I am thinking I can just cut the exisiting aftermarket tach and wire directly into the Camaro tach so I dont have to replace the sender/lead wires. I will jump the turn indicator off the printed circut.

Has anybody done this? I "think" it should work. I hate the look of a Pontiac "hood" tach and my car's theme is "factor looking restomod".

Thoughts? THX

Re: Camaro tach in a Firebird?

I'm glad to hear I am not the only one who doesn't like the hood tach.
If you can do the wiring it should work the cars and wiring are very similar from the factory. You might even be able to install the printed circuit board for the tach equipped car.

I don't know about the idiot lights that were in the fuel gauge...
