Another fuel gauge problem..

68..

Key off - Full
Key on - 1/2 inch PAST Full

Checked and cleaned the ground to the frame, thats good..

Have power to the sender..

Looked at back of guage. I dont see any wires going to the gauge. Only wires on the whole cluster is the big black plug behind the speedo. Is that correct? Im assuming the fuel gauge works off the circuit panel on the back of the cluster?

Im a body guy, terrible at wiring and do not own an ohm meter. Got a test light though

What do you guys think is MOST LIKELY the culprit?

Re: Another fuel gauge problem..

Tonight-

Drained tank completely, gauge read Little more than half

Dropped tank and removed wire, gauge read 3 O'Clock (Way past full)

Thinking it has to be the sending unit.... ?
