No power to "LPS" terminal

Hi there:

I am hooking up some afternarket gauges and I found the LPS terminal on my fuse block has no power. I have the headlight switch "on" and have turned the knob in both directions.

I also have no dash lights...a previous owner had a little too much fun with the wire cutters.

Is it ok to pull the fuse block out and check the wires behind it to see if they are hooked up properly? I don't want to fry anything by messing around back there.

Thanks.

Re: No power to "LPS" terminal

I'd start at the headlight switch myself because I think the feed starts there as it enters the rheostat. To answer the question asked I would disconnect the battery before removing the fuse box if that's what you decide to do.

Re: No power to "LPS" terminal

Thank you for the help.
It turned out to be a bad headlight switch. The contacts were corroded. I tried cleaning it up, but for $30, I decided to pick up a new one.

Thanks again.
