94 Z28 ECM Issue

I have a 1994 z28 with a motor swap from a 1995 Impala SS,my car does not down shift after coming to a stop. I already swapped the transmission and it does the same thing, I also had the wire harness checked completely and that is also fine. My question is do I need a 94ECM from a z28 or from a 95 Impala SS ???

Impala PCM, the same one in the car the engine came from.

Re: 94 Z28 ECM Issue

After the motor was swaped the car ran fine for a good solid three yrs, I did'nt have any problems till after the three yrs....

What would happen if I try a 94 Z28 PCM? Can that cause any damage if I try it out with some one elses....???

Thank's

Re: 94 Z28 ECM Issue

My thoughts, if the trans has been swapped and same problem continued and used the '94 PCM, then either the driver of the trans circuit in the PCM is broke or poor connection at trans for shift solenoids. VSS works good I suppose since you have not said anything about no speedo and cruise control works.

Manually the trans works fine?
Another PCM may not be a bad idea. Just make sure the wires going to the trans are and scrapping against ground. Might measure solenoid coil resistance to make sure it there. On 4L60E trans, there are about 14 different electrical configurations for different models. Have Haynes manual? They seem to help, better than nothing.
