Re: 68 wirinh harness

Using what?

All new OE style harnesses?

A good aftermarket kit like the AAW Update system?

A generic aftermarket system like Painless or EZWire?

Rolls of bulk wire and boxes of connectors?

Need more info on what you want done...

Re: 68 wiring harness

Yes any one with decent ability should be able to do it, are you doing all the harness,
if so you have a lot more problems, putting a harness in is not rocket sicence.

Re: 68 wiring harness

Anyone can install an AAW Classic Update kit with a good crimper and basic handtools. We figure about 3 days to do an install, 4 if we have to take the car apart and put it back together

Re: 68 wiring harness

I think the bigger question is how do you get at the wiring? Do you remove the whole dash and rewire it on a bench or do you have to do it while laying on your back under the dash (oh isn't that fun).

So, how do the wise ones here suggest approaching this project?

Thanks
Paul

Re: 68 wiring harness

I had zero experiance on a rewire. I did underdash, engine compartment, console, and console gauges. I spread it out over nights after work. I had no problems, probably 10-12 hours in it? Did it with dash in. Used a test light alot making sure i was making correct progress. If u like doing work on your own car, you should give it a shoot, im sure you will do a great job.
