Car starts on its own.

I have a 67RS. Pertronix ignition coil, and replaced alt. with enternal regulator. Finally redone car after sitting for 5 or 6 years so figure car is rusty. Just picked up new odyssey batt. When I hook up cable, the car starts on it own. Cant figure out. Appreciate help!!

Re: Car starts on its own.

I tried tappin on it and making contact with battery a bunch of times thinking that might be problem, with no results. Maybe time for a new one?

Re: Car starts on its own.

Bonehead move. My neighbor gave me a hand while I was underneath tappin on solenoid. Well, when he went underneath to try he noticed I connected new battery cable was making contact. Minor adjustment now everything cool. Poor solenoid took a little pounding. I really need to admit to myself in my older age the my eyes aint what they used to be. Knucklehead me.

Re: Car starts on its own.

I'll bet that made a nice spark when you hooked the cable to the battery.

Experience...... It's what you get when you didn't get what you wanted.
