Fuel Gauge removal

Im wondering what the trick to removing a factory fuel gauge is? Last night I was pulling things apart to make conversion that would put a tach there and console gauges but I cant figure out how to remove fuel gauge. I know I will have to cut back of it to fit tack. Any help would be awsome.
Thanks

Re: Fuel Gauge removal

My advice is trade for a 68. Much easier swap . Sorry can't help you with 69. I'm sure others will chime in.
